New Palace on Wheels offers the finest in royal style travel across various destinations. In a royal itinerary of 7 Nights / 8 Days, guests travel in Maharaja Train. The destinations covered include Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar and City Palace, Jaipur, Wildlife viewing at Ranthambore National Park, Boat ride in the lake Pichola, Camel ride and Dinner at Sam Dhani (Sam Sand Dunes in Jaisalmer), visit to the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, Bird watching at Keoladeo Ghana National Park in Bharatpur and finally Taj Mahal in Agra.
Wednesday Day 01: Delhi
Guests arrive in Delhi and can undertake a short tour on their own before reporting at the Safdarjung Railway Station at 4 PM for check-in formalities. The train sedately chugs out at 6.30 PM for Jaipur. Sumptuous dinner is served on board in the royal dining cars at 7.30 PM.
Thursday Day 02: Jaipur
As the team rolls into Jaipur guests enjoy a delectable breakfast on board, ready to tour the royal city of Jaipur. Guests get into air-conditioned cars that take them to Amber Fort to explore its palaces and museums. Lunch is served at 1.30 PM followed by some more sightseeing within the Fort and then on to the local markets at 4.30 PM. At 6 PM guests get on board the train for light snacks and tea and then leave at 7 PM for some sightseeing followed by dinner at the Jai Mahal Palace at 8 PM. At 10 PM the train leaves for Sawai Madhopur.
Friday Day 03: Sawai Madhopur - Chittorgarh
Breakfast on board the train and then disembark for a safari in the Ranthambore National Park where you can get to see tigers and the Fort in the heart of the forest. Leave for Chittorgarh at 10.30 AM and enjoy lunch at 1.00 PM. Relax, have a drink in the bar or converse with fellow passengers in the Lounge. On arrival, you set out to explore the Fort and castles. At 8 PM guests dine at Hotel Panna and at 10 PM the train for the onward travel to Udaipur.
Saturday Day 04: Udaipur
Disembark at 8 AM and enjoy a sumptuous breakfast in a top class hotel followed by an excursion to the city’s palaces and forts. Lunch at 1.30 PM and then take a boat ride on Lake Pichola. Tea is on board the train at 3.30 PM and then the train sets out on a cross-Rajasthan journey to its North-West part to the city of Jaisalmer.
Sunday Day 05: Jaisalmer
Breakfast on the train and disembark at 7.15 AM for a sightseeing tour including the Fort, the Palace and the innumerable havelies. Lunch at 1.30 PM at Moomal hotel and then walk around. By 3.30 it is time for tea and then a camel ride on the sand dunes outside Jaisalmer. A dinner and cultural programme follow at 7.30PM and then at 11 PM the train glides out of Jaisalmer for Jodhpur.
Monday Day 06: Jodhpur
Arrive in the Blue City and after breakfast, you set out to explore the vast and imposing Mehrangarh Fort and its palaces. Lunch is followed by rest in the train and then the train sets off for Bharatpur.
Tuesday Day 07: Bharatpur - Agra
Arrive before a break of dawn and set out at 6 AM for the Keoladeo Ghana National Park for birding and photography. Breakfast in the forest lodge and return to the train for the onward journey to Agra. The train arrives at 10.10 AM and guests explore the city followed by lunch at a deluxe hotel. At 3 PM guests view the famed Taj Mahal followed by a walk around the local markets. Dinner is served on board the train at 8 PM and then train returns to Delhi.
Wednesday Day 08: Delhi
The train arrives at Safdarjung Railway Station at 4 AM and guests are served breakfast at 7.30 AM. It is time to check out and staff bid a fond farewell to guests."
