The Golden Chariot offers Pride of the South royal tour covering 7 nights and 8 days across some of the prized destinations famous Amba Vilas Mysore Palace, Jungle Safari at Rajiv Gandhi National Park, Kabini, Hampi- World Heritage site: Hemakuta Hill, Virupaksha temple, Queens Bath, Elephant stables, Royal enclosure, Hazara Rama Temple, Pattadakal and Badami cave temples- World Heritage Sites, famous churches and beach tour of old Goa.
Monday Day 01: Bangalore
Guests receive a warm welcome at the Taj West End and enjoy refreshments after which they attend a presentation and a cultural dance programme. This is followed by a visit to the ISKCON Temple. The brief city tour over, they proceed to Yeshwanthpur railway station to board the waiting Golden Chariot on a fairy tale ride across South India and Goa. The train leaves at 9 PM.
Tuesday Day 02: Mysore and Kabini
On arrival at Mysore, guests depart for the Amba Vilas Mysore Palace and take a tour. Then they board the waiting air-conditioned coach for the drive to Kabini where they check into the Kabini Jungle Lodge Resort. Lunch is followed by a safari in the forest. Later, in the evening, they view a movie and enjoy dinner around a campfire before retiring for the night in the Lodge.
Wednesday Day 03: Kabini & Mysore
Guests return to the Golden chariot after an early morning boat ride on the Kabini River and breakfast. Lunch is served on board and then guests depart for sightseeing of Srirangapatnam. Places they visit are the famed fort, Dariya Daulat and the Tipu Museum. A cultural dance show is hosted in the evening and dinner follows at a five-star hotel.
Thursday Day 04: Hassan
The day starts with a trip to Shravanbelgola. The trip is optional. Others can spend the time exploring local attractions. Lunch is served at 1 PM on the train after which guests proceed to Belur and Halebidu to view ancient temple complexes. By 7.15 PM guests return to the train to freshen up for dinner at 8 PM. The train leaves at 8.40 PM for Hospet.
Friday Day 05: Hospet & Hampi
On arrival at Hospet guests freshen up and breakfast at 7 after which it is time to go sightseeing in Hampi to the Hemakuta Hill, Virupaksha temple, Elephant stables, Royal Enclosure, Queens’ Bath and the Hazara Ram temple. After lunch guests go on an excursion to Vijaya Vittala Temple in Hampi to admire the Stone Chariot after which the Golden Chariot derives its name.
Saturday Day 06: Hospet to Badami
From Hospet, the Train departs for Badami at 4 AM and arrives at 8.30 Am. Guests proceed to Badami Caves in Pattadakal and take in some sightseeing. Lunch at 1.30 follows and then the train proceeds across some of the most breathtaking scenery to Goa.
Sunday Day 07: Goa
The train arrives at 1 AM at Goa and guests wake up in the morning to a lovely breakfast served by solicitous attendants. Then it is time to go sightseeing to take in the churches, shop and saunter around. After lunch, it is time to visit the beaches of Goa. By evening guests return to the Golden Chariot that sets out for Bangalore.
Monday Day 08: Bangalore
The train returns to Yeshwanthpur railway station at 11.30 AM after a dream journey and guests get a lovely send-off from the team of the Golden Chariot.
