Day 01: Arrive Kolkata (Flight: TBA)
Upon arrival at the airport, INDIA TAILOR MADE Executive will meet you at the arrival lounge holding a placard. Thereafter you will be assisted with a transfer to your hotel. Stay for two nights in Kolkata. (No Meals)
Day 02: Kolkata – Bagdogra (Flight: 6E 797 ETD 10:45 hrs. / ETA 11:55 hrs. or similar) – Darjeeling (Approx. Travel Time: 03 hrs)
Morning after breakfast check out and assisted transfer to airport to board the flight to Bogdogra. Upon arrival meet INDIA TAILOR MADE executive and travel to Darjeeling, the dreamland of the East. The views over the mountains to the snowy peaks of Kanchenjunga and down to the swollen rivers in the valleys are magnificent. The vegetation comprises of fir, pine and birch. Darjeeling is home to one of the most courageous warrior tribe’s famous world over for their velour and chivalry – the Gurkhas. Darjeeling - the name is derived from the Tibetan word 'Dorje' which means the precious stone or ecclesiastical scepter, which is emblematic of the thunderbolt of Indra, and 'ling' - a place, hence the land of the thunderbolt. Remaining day is free to stroll around this beautiful city and stay two nights in Darjeeling. (B)
Day 03: Darjeeling
Early morning around leave for one of the most mesmerizing sunrise views over the mountain you would have ever had. Have a packed picnic breakfast from the hotel and drive to the Tiger Hill for the sunrise view of Himalayan mountains. As the first rays of the sun shoot ahead and shed light upon the twin peaks of Kanchenjunga, first painting it pink and then in a beautiful orange color, you stand mesmerized with the beauty the nature had bestowed to mother earth. Just in the background you see the tip of Mt Everest, looking smaller in height to the peak of Makalu standing by its side (Makalu is much closer to tiger hill and hence looks much taller than Mt Everest). Return to hotel for breakfast. Then after, proceed to the Darjeeling Railway station to enjoy World Heritage Toy Train ride up to Ghoom. As you enjoy the toy train ride, the spectacular landscape unfolds as the 2-foot gauge Darjeeling Himalayan railway, opened in 1881, labors at about 10 mph crisscrossing the road. It has tiny 4-wheel locomotives (some over 100 years old) like living legends. One can experience the sound, smell and romance of a bygone era. DHR is a work of genius and technological achievement of 1881. It has social and cultural importance. It is beautiful and has outstanding universal appeal. Based on its unique features, it is considered to be of lasting. Continue with visit to Tea Estates (Outer View) Garden visit only. Then after, visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Zoological Park, Tibetan Refugee Centre. Stay overnight in Darjeeling. (B) (Himalayan Mountaineering Institute & Zoological Park remains closed on Thursday & Tibetan Refugee Centre remains closed on Sunday).
Day 04: Darjeeling – Gangtok (Approx. Travel Time: 05 hrs)
The morning after leisurely breakfast travel to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Under the majestic Mt. Khangchendzonga, the guardian deity of Sikkim, Gangtok is a happy blend of the traditional and the modern world. Arrive Gangtok and check in at the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Stay for two nights in Gangtok. (B)
Day 05: Gangtok
After breakfast proceeds to full day sightseeing tour of Gangtok city visiting the beautiful 16th century Rumtek Monastery, which is the largest monastery in Sikkim and holds a special position as it is Karmapa’s seat in Exile in India. The place is accessible after clearing tough security checks but once you enter the monastery, you feel an instant inner calm and peace as the monastery in itself unfolds as a maze of color, flags and monks. The giant wind chimes hung high up chimes continuously enhancing the mystical environment as you admire the walls and roof of the monastery covered with mythical figures from age old Buddhist legends. You even get to see where the monks live and go about their daily lives. Spend rest of the day at hotel with in-house amenities or explore the surrounding at your own pace. Evening visit Enchey monastery, which is one of the newer monasteries in Gangtok but still holds a special place in Buddhist life. The monastery building does not offer much, but the drive to the monastery is dotted with colourful blooms, intermittent waterfalls, beautifully stacked shops of green leafy vegetables and local produce. The green of the forest and the hazy blue of the sky merge with the spiritual flavour of monastery area and the effect is transcendental. Stay overnight in Gangtok. (B)
Day 06: Gangtok – Kalimpong (Approx. Travel Time: 03½ hrs)
Morning travel to Kalimpong situated on the foothills of the Himalayas is a green destination at an altitude of 1243 meters / 4078 foot. It is a historical destination with a bustling market, colourful people and offers spectacular views of the Himalayan range. On arrival check into the hotel. Then after enjoy exploring the local area and market. Visit some of the school built during the British time or monasteries, flower nurseries and Thongsa Gumpa. Stay overnight in Kalimpong. (B)
Day 07: Kalimpong – Bagdogra (Approx. Travel Time: 03½hrs) – Kolkata (Flight: (Flight: 6E 534 ETD 16:35 hrs. / ETA 17:45 hrs. or similar)
The morning after breakfast checkout and transfer to Bagdogra airport to board the flight to Kolkata. Upon arrival, India Tailor Made executive will meet and assist with transfer and check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day free for own activity. Stay overnight in Kolkata. (B)
Day 08: Kolkata - Departure (Flight: TBA)
The morning after leisurely breakfast checkout. Tour finish with sweet memories and direct transfer to airport to board the flight to onward destination. (B)

We like to inform you that the road condition while travelling to Sikkim and other parts of this sector is in poor condition as there was highway extension work which was going on & it takes some time. It is very important to keep all guests travelling to this sector informed about the same to avoid the last-minute disappointment.
REGARDING SIKKIM INNER LINE PERMIT
For entering Sikkim, a normal Inner Line permit is required.
This permit can be obtained on any one of the following procedures:
At the time of applying for the Indian Visa itself, the clients need to mention that they will visit Sikkim and accordingly a 15 days inner line permit is stamped on the visa.
On arrival in Darjeeling we need to produce the original passport with valid Indian Visa at the District Magistrates office and a 15 days inner line permit can be granted. It takes half day.
While entering Sikkim the permits can be issued on the spot at Rongpoo Check Post (while going to Gangtok) or Melli Check Post (while going to Pelling). It takes 20 minutes to 1 hour depending on group size. A serial numbered form at the check post needs to be filled and submitted along with photocopies of passport and Indian visa and 02 passport size snaps.
The following can be granted Inner Line permits to visit Sikkim ONLY by the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi or the Indian High Commissions abroad.
